So now back in a MK5 Gti... drives just as well as the mk6 tbh.
R32 all day long
Im back in a MK5 at the moment and tbh i have forgotten the difference between having a MK6... its only the heating controls that seem to be different

Why the shock? There really is minimal difference between the mk5 and mk6 to drive, the interior is very similar and only the face and arse are different on the outside.
If it wasn't for the fact that my last mk5 was an early 05 plate GTI which needed a fair few quid spending on it on wear and tear items I'd have happily stayed in my mk5. If I had a newer mk5 there would have been no way I'd have stumped up the increasingly ridiculous amount for the new car (as it was I saved nearly 3 grand by buying and ex-demo), and if I knew I would break even on my mk6 I'd happily sign on the dotted line for a late ED30 or Pirelli or R32 if it was priced sensibly.
The mk6 GTI is an improved car, but the mk5 was so good it's not that much inferior, especially when you consider it's nearly £30k now for a decent spec mk6 GTI . Fine if you're on a massive salary or your employer pays your car bills, mad money in all other respects
