Just to add a few more faults which may be apparent, rear washer jet leaking and messing the boot handle up, brake light switched failed, rear heated screen wire snapped inside the boot and melted onto the washer pipe

wishbone bushes wear quickly, electric mirror switch fell off, interior soft touch marks realy easy and can look tatty easily etc etc
It's a shame as I loved my mk4 and accepted all the little niggles at the time but looking back it was probably one of the most problematic cars I have ever owned.
Also dont expect to get any of the modding money back so in a few years time you'll have to find the cash to buy a new expensive car again!
The sensible answer is no, but at the age you are sensible is the last thing on your mind

so if you do it, make sure you have enough to remap and sort the suspension at least! Then save a few pennies for the window regulators/MAF
