frozen locks

had a few cars in my time . but i've never had one that the locks frezze up on quite like the golf does lol . does any one have any tips on how to make this problem any easier

im suffering big time at the mo with the same problem.......................

plus the added bonus of the central locking not working (frozen???)
everytime it freezes i have a right faff about.

this moring i managed to climb in through the passenger door(the only 1 i could open this morning)
then started the car up,thinking some warm might help... lol  lol  lol

went back out 5mins later and all the doors were locked,   now on mine if you cant get the drivers side door open within a short peroid,it locks itself again
i take it ,all the central locking is via the drivers door??? or is that a feature of my full closure alarm?

either way its really starting to p**s me off.........then when the locking finally gives in the bloody doors are frozen solid anyway..ggrrrrrrrrrr

i had the same issues last winter used lots of deicer on the locks seem to do the trick but it was bloody annoying tho

annoying job but take out the locks and grease the barrel and tumblers ;-)

iv had the issue once this year, last month i think. I managed to get in using the key though (just). I also couldnt pull the locking pins up from inside once in!

lol funnily enough i had this problem yesterday aswell.. but mind doesnt have a key fob... only have keys.... anyway the drivers side door lock will freeze and not allow my key inside the lock lol... passenger side lets me (for now) lol...  and central locking works from both doors by the way. not just the drivers side.

iv had the issue once this year, last month i think. I managed to get in using the key though (just). I also couldnt pull the locking pins up from inside once in!

Because if the car is locked from the outside using the key then the doors are deadlocked, so if somebody smashed a window and tried unlocking the car by pulling the pin up then they'd fail epically

Only real way into the car is through the boot! I've got a smoothed boot plinth going on mine though so the only lock on the car will be the drivers door as the passenger side is also delocked

so why are golf locks so bad . never feally had any trouble with other cars
