Needs coding with VagCom, i had the same problem when i fitted mine mate. Somebody off the mk5golfgti forum did it for me for free, stealers wanted the car for half a day at £75 + VAT per hour IIRC. It only takes 10mins todo

Hi Aidy, do you know exactly what needs coding as my local dealer are doing me a favour (it is Xmas!) and I want them to get it right.  Thanks

Hmm, I didn't notice any PM other than your first contact. I noticed that you had successfully installed your RNS as well as trying to establish contact with someone with a vag com.

What I did was using latest 908 software on Vag-Com, got into Nav module 37.

and changed the long code to something suitable for my car. 04010400040000A200

you can do it in code -07, where you will find a line with a lot of boxes. Each box represent 2 digits of the long code (9boxes). when you place the mouse pointer over each box, a dialogue box appears giving you various options. like sound system, speaker monitoring, etc. at the end, you need to enable BAP function. I believe this enable the RNS to talk to the MFSW and DIS

the long code I chose in the end correspond to my car configuration., 160 hp, MFSW, non VW sound system(I don't have Dynaudio) etc. when done, press do it and its coded.

I took a photo of each crucial step with my cam/phone so that I could keep track in case I need to backtrack.

I already posted at the top of the first page what needs to be coded

Don't take a longcoded string from another car unless it has the same options as yours
