Miles from a tank - GTi or GTD
« on: 14 December 2009, 16:58 »
Hi Guys,

Just curious what kind of mileage you are getting from a full tank of fuel and what brand you are using?

Thanks
Darren

I dont have the GTD as yet but drive a similar car in the A3 DSG 170 deisel which has the same engine and usually get 550 - 570 miles from each 50ltr fill up from Shell; this works out about 48mpg.

If you are that bothered about fuel consumption, a GTI isn't for you.

MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

GTi - 400 plus miles of all urban driving. Very pleased with that.

Always use 99 RON fuel from Shell, Tesco or BP
Mk6 GTi - returned to leasing company after 3 great years and replaced with :

Mk5 GTi - Edition 30 - Revo 1 and some tweaks - 310 bhp. Its a better car than the Mk6  - Now sold and replaced with :

Mk6 R - Rising Blue 5 Door. Won't be standard 270bhp for long

Family Car : Mercedes ML420 with 360 bhp
Looking at Porsche Macan as replacement

I have the 140bhp with that little extra added the fuel consumption is around 49mpg which is better that I got with the Astra 150bhp.

I do both motorway and urban driving and covered 1200 miles with the 49mpg.....

My 2 pence

Just curious that's all. Need some info to keep me occupied as the wait is such a long time. Having just sold my R32, i don't think fuel is much of an issue for me.
