Contract signed yesterday!

I ended up with this configuration:
Golf GTI Carbon Grey 4 door (same price as the 2 door)
DSG
DCC
Adaptive Bi-Xenons
Sunroof
18" Detriot
RCD510 with Dynaudio
Media-in iPod
Cruise Control
Winter Pack
Flat tyre indicator

Can't wait to get my car. I'm probably getting the car in April according to the dealer. It will probably be the first mk6 GTI I'll see on the roads. They are quite rare over here compared to the UK. Perfect timing as well as I'm going on a road trip to southern Europe this summer. :)

Reflex Silver MK6 GTI 3-door DSG, DCC, Sunroof, 18" Detroit, Xenons, LED tail lights, RCD 510, Dynaudio, Media-in, Bluetooth, Cruise Control, Winter Pack.

Added Milltek 3" Race exhaust and H&R suspension.

I have the VW phone kit too and I was told that this results in the sharkfin aerial (the car uses it as an external aerial for the phone).  I have no DAB nor Sat Nav either.

Nice spec Awry   Just remember to get some winter tyres as I believe you get lots of snow in Norway... some of the cars here in Scotland are struggling with the snow and ice.... note that the DSG won't start from 2nd gear, even in manual mode.... and there is no "snow" mode!

Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!

Thanks :) We'll actually I live in the southwest so there's not a lot of snow. If we get snow at all it usually lasts for about a week but still I wouldn't dare to drive here without winter tyres during winter.

It's only been a week since I ordered and already it feels like ages ago. Dammit this is going to be a LONG wait. :(

I think I'm going to get my confirmation on the build week soon and it'll be too late to change my spec. There are still 3 options I'm considering changing.

White, Deep Pearl Black, Reflex Silver, Carbon Grey.
Leather or Cloth
5 or 3 door

I really do not need the rear doors. I'm currently driving a 3 serie sedan and the last time someone used the rear doors is half a year ago. The only thing that really pushed me to choose 5-door is the fact that the 3-door cost exactly the same and It'll probably be easier to sell the 5-door. I do like the look of the 3-door better though.

I've already read every single post about these options and I know in the end it's up to me but a friendly comment or shove is welcomed. Hell I'll even take a rugby shove to finalize my choices. haha

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that has gone through this "waiting and wondering about options"-phase. :P I keep changing my mind while drooling at pics.

Right now I'm actually liking reflex silver. It wasn't one of my top colors when I ordered. Front looks very nice. The contrast you get when picking the lighter colors shows the details more. Since I'm getting Xenon and LED rear lights as default silver may not be too boring.

So at this very moment Reflex Silver 3 door looks nice to me. I may even trade sunroof for leather.

Here's the pic that made me like Reflex Silver btw

Opinions on spec are totally subjective.... but here's my 2p:-

Colour
White is a far far too common colour now, also it's a total pig to keep clean. I think the grey is really subtle, and rather nice.

Leather or cloth
Cloth

3/5 Door
I think the 3-door looks better. If you don't need five doors, why bother?

Don't worry about a couple of hundred of quid in resale value, enjoy your car! :afro:

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Awry - I think you should go for 5 door if you are worried at all about residuals. The mark 6 gti really is a practical family car particularly due to the improvements in mpg, and every magazine in the world saying what a great all rounder it is. I think the 5 door looks good it is easy to dump stuff on the back seats and you can also get out of the car in a car park with less chance of damaging yourself let alone your brand new pride and joy  My family has had 3 and 5 doors golfs and would never to back to 3 doors.
PS I take it the LED tail lights are going to after market or have I missed something?

Thanks a lot for sharing your views.

I've decided and this is final. I hope...

Reflex Silver: I've chosen this over my original choice of Carbon Grey because I was missing the contrast between the paint and black grille. White was my second option to get better contrast and it looks awesome on the GTI, but there have been a lot of new white cars sold in Norway lately and I prefer metallic paint.

3-door: Purely due to looks and feel. I rarely have passengers at the back and I also like that the side view is better. Hard to describe but I feel more "wrapped" inside the car which I like. Maybe due to the window shape.

Cloth: I kept this option. It was 50/50 between cloth and leather.
