Both good cars.
The Ford steers better, of course.
If you are over 40 then the VW every time.

I bought my 2.8 in 1998, new. Smashing little car, but two years ago it started to hurt my back, so it has stayed in the garage, SORNed. I was thinking of selling but decided to have a good look as to why the back pain (I assumed it was the seat). I found the clutch pedal was not hitting the little plastic clutch stop and streching my leg (knackered after a prang on a motorcycle years ago). An offcut of wood taped to the back of the clutch pedal now acts as a perfect clutch stop. Result I'm back in the roadster and loving it more than ever.

I have a ST2 with Dreamscience remap (£250 2nd hand - can be used on 5 cars) - this has 5 maps which you download via a handset - 260bhp - 275bhp and 340lb/ft
The car is rapid with the remap but as standard it felt restricted compared to last car - TT225 with CC remap
The ST has 3 electronic steering settings via the stalk, looks sporty exterior wise, interior has 3 gauges which are useful (oil temp/ oil pressure/ boost), has comfy recaro seats, ST2 and ST3 has ESP, Xenons, heated front screen, etc
As mentioned they are thirsty, mine as standard and remapped averages 24mpg around town but with the car on boost listening to the noise it's worth it

I was thinking of looking at a Leon FR TFSi but think i might regret changing?
