for anyone needing to know the grommet location on a mk4

here is a pic to show the exact location of the grommet in the bulkhead of a mk4 golf

it is located at the very back left hand corner of the pollen filter housing
and as you can see it is a good size i am running 4awg 8awg and my alarm siren cabling through it

it is behind the pollen filter
if you look at the engine bay to the passenger side on the scuttle panel you will see 4 screws remove those pull out the piece of trim and the pollen filter is there and it is directly behind that

just wondering where abouts inside the car this then comes out?
been trying to work out where to run the live all night?

it comes out right at the top of the dash behind the airbag
to get to it you will need to remove the glove box which also means you need to remove the front section of the centre console as there is a hidden screw holding the glove box in
when you have removed the glove box you need to pull the white fluffy material in front of you to one side and look right up to the top of the bulkhead and you will see the grommet
i am doing a mk4 on saturday so will do a quick guide and post it saturday afternoon
