I'm sure he didn't buy it to leave parked up and look at

Seeing as the mk6 is cheaper i can see rattles rearing there head soon!

They made it easier to manufacture/build thus saving cost, not out of cheaper parts. It is as likely to rattle as any other modern VW.

Maybe its just me but the mk6 gti is definately not quieter than the mk5 :undecided:

Do you think that's due to the sound generator pipe thing, or did the Mk5 have one as well?

Eh? It's a car, you're supposed to drive it not just polish and look at it.

The wiper needs to be clean, many people do not clean (or replace dried up) wiper blades on the back window.
You can't just blame VW for everything.

I dont think the MK5 did.. but this seems to be road noise in general. I would have to say the R32 was much quieter (road noise wise) than the mk6. Probably designed to be more of a mile muncher anyway.

Washed every week some times twice, 1000 miles on the clock with may be 15 feet in reverse. Sorry think I have a lemon wiper, getting it replaced but not by the stealer's, its the only thing I have found fault with so can't be bad.

It is on most of the time as I find the rear window get dirty just going to the shops, is this the same with all golfs?, never had a hatch back that gets soooooo dirty at the back..

yes.. it seem to be a common problem with the Golfs. The rear of them always ends up very dirty especially in this weather.

Fair enough, no one would buy a mk6 to look at after all!

MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?
