Yes Phil i agree to some extent, but mk6 is better !! I thought the same until i tested one twice, then went and  bought one (well when its built ???) Mk5 shape looks better but not as refined as mk6!! So its a Mk6 hahaha  :grin: :laugh: :cool:

It is different, but too quiet and less envolving in the drive feel. Just had a mk6 GTD this past week, and although drove well, just didnt feel as fun to drive. Audi S3 style, Null and boring, and not the connected feel via the wheel like in the Ed30.



But we all have different fetishes in life.

One day when they are not 30k crazy money, 2 years , half price, then we are talking R hunting time.

Perhaps its the HUGE price hike thats putting me off perhaps. Wait for a year or 40% depreciation and then ill be hunting no doubt.

Maybe its just me but the mk6 gti is definately not quieter than the mk5 :undecided:

Quite the opposite.. but thats obviously just imo.

My 32 is quieter than my mums GTI. Do they have better sound insulation?

Seeing as the mk6 is cheaper i can see rattles rearing there head soon!

I know people have said its cheaper to build but i would most likely put this down to not having as many configurations etc. the mk6 has much better interior quality than the mk5. Not too sure about the insulation tbh... I would say my gti and R sound quite similar when plodding along, but i guess thats like comparing apples and oranges.

From my experience though its got alot more growl to it than the mk5 gti... but ultimately alot more noisy in the cabin for road noise.
