Negative attention on the road? Don't experience it! more like zero attention except from fellow golf driver!
That's the whole point of the GTI. This is a 200bhp+ golf made a whole lot better visually by some 'subtle' exterior changes. Without the badge, most environmentalist or ladies wouldn't able to tell the difference esp they now also do a GTD.
If I want attention and street race, I will buy a green Focus RS rather than a carbon grey GTI.

I think a red GTI will stimulate aggression or some unwanted interest from other road user!

No but did have a mk5 gti chasing me up the A19 the other day. I was doing about 100-110mph and pulled across to the inside lane but he didn't want to pass. He just wanted to stay behind me.

99.9% of Mk V & Mk VI Golfs on the road over here are TDIs. I get admiring glances from the drivers, but given that they're only packing 110-140hp, they don't even think about taunting me. I ride supreme over all the French proletariats :grin:

Was that a typo?  Did you mean kph?
