My VW dealer (great guy, Mike Simm, Pulman Durham) mentioned VWR Performance Upgrade Packs (I test drove a Gti mark VI with the upgrade)  -  not necessary for me but you guys might be interested, even if only as a comparison. Expensive compared to Blue Fin  -  Power increase to 250bhp, torque increase to 380Nm, Performance VWR Rear Exhaust ('R' branded tailpipes) and Performance VWR Air Filter  -  £1,499 fully fitted. Also, VWR Sport Spring Set and 20mm lower ride height  -  £599 fully fitted  -  fitted by VW Retailer.

Mmmm I like the sound of this one although it's pricey! at least you would still have your warranty.
May have this done in the New Year.

warranty, GW  -  quoting the booklet '....the VWR Upgrade Package comes with a full mechanical warranty to ensure that your cover matches the remaining Volkswagen-supplied warranty for the car....for more details please ask your Volkswagen Retailer...'  -  if I was going to get it, I'd have to know more about VWR's definition of 'matches'  -  matches the duration of the remaining VW warranty or the actual specifics of the cover??  -  Yes, much cheaper than buying the R but I think more sensible, money-wise, to spend £5K on the 'R' than £1,500 for the upgrade  -  anyway, I'm more than happy with the Gti's 'standard' performance  -  enough for me.

I have been in email contact with Kate at JKM as I am ordering the Bluefin at £390 inc VAT and may have the cruise fitted as well. The Autoexpress article has convinced me.

As far as I understand the warrenty is covered by Superchips for the parts / work that VW will not pay for if they uncover the re map. I have a good relationship with my dealer so I would hope they could do something if there was an issue.
