Is Bluefin really that noticable to everyone? or just one of those things that because you know you have done it, it feels faster?

from what the mk5 gti boys say... its very noticable like 25% gain should be. Good write up there also.. and means i dont have to worry about getting it taken off before i go to the dealers. Sounds like a winner!!

Think i have just convinced myself to go down the blufin route

This sounds like the best option as you can revert back to stock settings at any time. £435 for an extra 50-ish bhp and more torque than the R is very appealing.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

^^ yes 50bhp increase with the K04. around 40bhp for the K03 turbo (mk6)or about 50lb ft of extra torque.£390 +vat if you search for forums discounts.

But the winner for Bluefin was you keep "Your Factory map on the handset". Load it on in under 10 minutes.Remove to imobilise the car if your going away, or revert back to stock and not a mocked version that Revo as an example do.

Customer service from Superchips has been 2nd to none. Ive tried 3 different versions of the stage 1 map to pick the best one that suits me and the way the car drives. Figures are not the be all and end all.

You can get the 'select plus' switch from Revo to upload different maps including a factory map.

Agreed the Bluefin is quite a bit cheaper but there was a lot of talk on Sciroccocentral when I had my 'roc between which was best, I think the concensus was that the Revo had had more HP but the bluefin was better value.

I think the way the power delivery is the main difference between the two mapping Companys.Bluefin tends to be slighly more agressive low down, whereas Revo is more Progressive and holds better Torque by looking at lots of graphs etc

Bluefin is ace on the Mk5.  The DSG map was updated, it cost no more, and was easy to do.
It's up to you.
