My update
Been on the phone to VWcs to say im f**king fuming afterwards is an understatment. Sadly i did not get to speak to my case worker so i did not vent but i was filled in by the person answering the phone. The dealer has not even PDI'ed the car yet they have not touched it sence they got it last Thursday . Don't they think they have messed me about enough FFS!, Feel strongly  like telling them to stick it were the sun don't shine the bunch of tossers and just buying one local out of a showroom.

Went into my dealers today, car is now officially in the UK and awaiting transport to my dealer.

Evo, if you're reading this, my dealer thinks i'll be able to get it by Saturday midday.  Is he telling fibbs?  Bearing in mind that my car is in Sheerness in Kent, and needs to be 'sported over to Haywards Heath in Sussex, which technically is the next county over.  (a 2hr max trip even for an HGV.)

I made it quite clear to my bloke today that I want the car this week as I've taken a week off, and it is now 7 months and 3 days since I ordered.  He was being a bit sheepish, and I asked him to do whatever he can do to get it over.

If it's not here by this weekend then I've wasted a week's annual leave.  I have to work next weekend, so I'm looking at another two weeks before I can get my car, and I'm getting p1ssed off!

I'd have said s*d off before now  -  it's as if some dealers think they are doing their customers a favour by letting them have a car!

That really is a giant p1ss take mate, you need to name and shame them I think.  Or start making a Facebook group dedicated to their unbelievable lack of decent customer service!

They did bothered to asked VW how to go about claiming the VAT back etc etc last Thursday but have not bothered to even tell me they have the car. So i guess they have probably done all the paperwork just not told me yet. The dealer i will name but its in MiltonKeynes  . Trust me when this is over you will read about what went on, theres unreal amounts and so much i have not said its shocking. You would not believe it, i know i don't when i go back over it

Im not EVO but my brother PDI's cars for a living for a big dealership chain and my uncle is an MD of a different dealership chain and this time table from my experience of other brands they regular talk about is not a problem. VW however thats a different kettle of fish as they have there own timetable!

H12 writes "Why has this been such a battle for some of us?? I should be bouncing off the walls with excitement but I'm more dissappointed with the whole experience... "

Don't be disappointed H12, remember, it's nothing personal, they didn't make you wait deliberately to upset you. Yes, it's annoying and frustrating, but I finally get my car next Monday and waiting since 29th August has sharpened my appetite, especially seeing Casabians pic, mine is carbon grey too, so apart from an extra 2 doors will look like his. I'm really looking forward to it.

Fair point mate but I hardly expected to have to persuade the dealer to let me have the car earlier than they wanted. I knew the car was being delivered today but they seemed to want it sitting at their dealership for over a week before I could lay my grubby mitts on it- a bit rich I think seeing as I placed the order on 15th August They probably wanted to have it on show or something.

I know of another person who's had more than their fair share of problems with the same dealer chain...

Have to admit seeing Casabian's lovely looking motor has got me excited again though  :

So at the moment you don't have a scooby as to when you'll pick the car up ??? That's just unreal !!

Tough task getting your car turned around by Saturday, hope it happens for you tho mate if the dealership has any sense they will not over promise and under deliver as that infuriates me.
