2000 miles in!! and i am still loving this car very much!!!!!!

those of you who are waiting, will not be dissapointed!! 

Hope you're right ! After asking the salesman on Monday AND yesterday whether I should get an MOT for my p/x car which expires on Sunday, he eventually got back to me at half 2 today (after I tried to get hold of him) to tell me my car was now in the country but would not be ready in time for me to pick it up before things expire... I asked him why he couldn't have told me when I asked him repeatedly before and he skirted around the question.

Thanks for that mate- now I have to take tomorrow afternoon off to get my car MOT'd- the dealer had said he could get it done for me when I mentioned this a few weeks ago but has now decided not to help me- and I also need to get temporary car insurance because that runs out on Sunday. To say I am Pi$$ed off is an understatement..

I told him there had better be some additional compensation for this icing on the cake to the saga.. At the moment I honestly wish I had never dealt with VW- the customer service is beyond abysmal IMO 

ah right that is rather unfortunate with the bad timings! just push to get them to take some of the additional cost back! good luck mate.

Just been onto VWuk and have been told that my GTI arrived at the dealer yesterday.  Nice of the dealer to keep me updated.

Also been onto the bank, I think i just gave all my pesonal details away so hope it was a genuine number! been told BACS which is how the dealer wanted paying can only pay out 10K aday  That Bankers draft is the only other way and ~£30 extra (trip to local bank so another day off! etc) and more time i guess. Nothings easy with this car

Glad your car is at the dealership at long last.
I wonder for how long it has been there?
Mine will be with dealership next week.
I will have it deliverd on 22nd March. Too busy before then.
Glad your banking hiccup has been resolved.
Hope our cars will be problem-free.

Great news Snoops!  I'm not phoning again until I get back from France on Monday.  With regard to your bank payment issues, why dont you just use your debit card?  Thats what im doing.  ( or what I HOPE to be doing if I ever get a car to pay the balance on!)

Well done Snop, almost there. Banks and their limits can be a right wind up.
I've been in there to take out, say £3000 and they ask me what the moneys for!
I tell them its none of their business. They explain its standard procedure; I've told them some tall stories, that I have had a good 'tip' and am going to put all on a horse at 33/1 or that I need it to pay a ransom to insure the safe return of my pet wessel.

At last. Great news.
Not sure about BACS but using your debit card is fine for purchases over £10k but most banks like to be informed beforehand for that amount.

When do you collect your car?

The dealer has to actually contact me first 
Then i bet they get the invoice wrong.
Then theres the argument over the invoice.
Then there is the issue of payment as the options they originally gave for payment did not include debit card.
Then i have to wait for payment clearing as they won't allow me to take it before it does.
Then i have to try and get time off work as does my mate to take me there & so he can check the car for me.
Then i have to go and get it.

2weeks today i guess.

Nothing is simple anymore. All the best.
My car is coming from Telford to London. Not a chance in hell for me to go there and check the car.
I hope it does not arrive with problems. I have never taken delivery of a car that was 100% to my satisfaction. Warranty work went on and on!
Just dreading the whole thing if it goes wrong.

The check over will be when we pick it up as its 250miles away from me.  Nothing like a 500mile trip in a day  Thats if i don't get arrested for GBH when im down there.
