Just an update; ordered a GTD on 29th August, just been given a Fiesta Zetec TDCI until the 28th February free of charge.Expect this to be extened until the end of March when the car is expected. That will make it 30 weeks since order....impressed with the Fiesta for what it is....
Do you know if you have an updated or confirmed build week ? As your car is one i seem to have outstanding on our table on page one.

/quote]

Week07 is week beginning 15th Feb, Week 06 is w/b 8th Feb.

That's totally sucky about the courtesy car mate, your dealer is feeding you a load of carp.  I got a courtesy car, and I p/exd my old Mk4 GTI!

I don't mind too much that I have to keep my p/x car for a bit longer as I'm sure it's faster than any hire car I'd likely be offered. As you say, not long to wait for my GTI now

Yeah, that's what I thought about the build week but he definately said the 2nd week of Feb. This seems to stack back to when it's expected to be delivered though because if it was w/c 15th Feb, I reckon that would be cutting things fine for me to pick it up in the first week of March.

I do find it odd my letter from VW says mine is week 6 but for me to not expect delivery until the 2nd or 3rd week of march.(from head of the branch support team@VWcs)  :undecided: I suppose i better get onto them numties at the dealer at some point and tell them what VW has said to me and to NOT register mine in feb if they do get it in time for some reason.

This does seem a bit odd doesn't it, mate ? I wouldn't have thought it would take such a long period of time after being built before you can collect your car...  :undecided:

They did say it a couple of different times on the phone too and stressed it when I questioned it myself at the time, before they attempted to put it in writing for me like I asked.

I asked my salesbloke what in reality was the lead time from build week to actual customer collection.  He said 2-3 weeks.  That's why we've pencilled in Monday the 8th March.  Mine will be shipping to Sheerness in Kent and then via car transporter to the dealer.  Theres no midlle bit.  Off the boat, onto transporter, then straight to dealer.  Im snowboarding from Feb 27th to March 6th, getting back Sunday the 7th, so it's worked out quite nicely.

edit: you having quote trouble there H12?

edit2: Snoops, we should create a new thread called "August orders photoshoots" when everyones got theres.  Perhaps a middle country meet up to?

No confirmation as yet, I'm told the build week information is so unreliable that they are ignoring at the moment.
Assured verbally that VW will try to capture my payment in Q1 so delivery expected last week in March. Now I have courtersy car, I aint that bothered now. My firm are saving about £400 per month and I am on a profit share so any savings are welcome.

Spoke to a VW technitian today who told me (speaking from experience) that fitting a remap will half the replacement period for both brakes and tyres. Am thinking twice about fitting one.....hay ho....roll on end of March (+30 weeks!!)
GTD White 5dr, ACC, Sunroof, winter pack, in transit.......

I sent the dealer an email Tuesday night saying I was disappointed I did not receive the promised call on Monday morning. I had a response saying he was arranging a meeting with the Area Manager and VW to discuss my problem and other issues but, not surprisingly for a salesman, didn't specify when that would be. I emailed back asking when this would be but needless to say I did not receive a reply.
Are you still getting nowere mate?
