Advice I got on top-mounts is that anything other than genuine VW ones ends up being false economy. Just spend a bit extra and get gen VW mounts. Also remember to change the bearings.

i agree with this, i bought febi ones when i fitted my coilies and they left quite large gaps in the top plates and just genrally didnt fit right so i payed the extra and got genuine vr6 ones which are larger and fit alot nicer..

Not being funny but genuine or aftermarket you will end up replacing them in the end, not really a fit and forget item.

My Febi ones are still fine, they have done over 9k now.

they were the exact ones i bought first and are not vr6 mounts in anyway and dont fit great...

I used them all ok as have loads of people.  :rolleyes:

you used them for a few months... and did you have a gap between the wing and the top plate?
