dodgy top mount?
« on: 23 November 2009, 13:50 »
replaced top mounts on my 8v recently as the drivers side was deffo collapsed with loadsa play when jacked up, been on a few weeks, had a look yesterday+ the drivers is still sitting alot higher than the other one, Like 6-7mm more
When replacing everything looked fine+ in good shape, is this just a dodgy top mount from gsf + a coincidence that its on the same side or should i be checking for anything more sinister, btw not being driven ATM due to exhaist+ brake pipes waiting for replacement.

Advice I got on top-mounts is that anything other than genuine VW ones ends up being false economy. Just spend a bit extra and get gen VW mounts. Also remember to change the bearings.

No point to be honest, the Febi ones are just as good and loads cheaper.
