I've seen cars with Osrams fitted and mine have the Phillips, to be honest you would probably need a lux sensor to tell them apart. They are both worthy upgrades and you can't really go wrong either.

Exactly which bulbs are these (product code/name) as I want to upgrade mine but not sure whether to get the blue ones (I'm after a white light not a chav light!)

Do the philips blue sidelights give a nice white light or is it chav blue?

The sidelights are a pure white and look really crisp and clear
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

What about the bulbs for the dipped/main, which ones are they and are they white or will I need the "blue" ones?

Just to clear things up these are the Phillips ones which a few of us on here have

Dipped: http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=81

Side: http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=31

If you order these dipped ones from www.powerbulbs.com you get the side ones for free which is a bit of a bonus.

Neither of these are "blue" and produce a clear white light. These photos are quite misleading as we was playing with ISO settings on the camera but heres a picture of them on my car just to show how unblue they are ;) :

Hope this helps.

Going to go for the Phillips (thanks Alan for your reply)

Got AMazon vouchers to use up given to me from work and saw these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-X-Treme-Extreme-Upgrade-Headlight/dp/B001IHHQII/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1259942783&sr=8-2

Are they the same - I am not sure as they are H7 499 and not just H7......

They seem a good price and they do come with the free sidelights!

If anyone can help a noobie I would be greatful
