has anyone got a build date for the golf R yet?

Those are quite quick build weeks been week2.

I would have thought VW would like to get some R's on the road - as they'll stir up more interest when people can actually see them!
There were rumours that the press would be reviewing them in December - so hopefully we'll get some magazine articles soon when they get a LHD to play with!

You have to ask your dealer for the commision number.

Then you can phone customer service and give them the number to find out what stage your car is at.
The customer service number is listed under volkswagen world, contact us, customer care on the VW website.

just rung VW cust services and they confirmed i'm definately on the list my car has been ordered 
shame my dealer couldn't have told me this

I got a call from my dealer today - I now have an actual 6 digit commission number!
He had put in 7 orders, and only the first 2 are confirmed.  Good job I was first with the deposit and number one on his list!

The commission number doesn't show a build date in the VW system yet, but should do fairly soon.

On Friday VW decided they'd bump other cars for the R's and re-allocate commission numbers - but then an hour later they started giving R's new commission numbers instead and taking the previous ones they issued back.

VW still seem to think there will be some UK R's on the road in the first quarter.

Thats probably what happened to my GTI!!! as last week my provisional build week vanished and i was simply put back on the waiting list.

Out of 4 orders only mine has been confirmed and I've got a comission number
