You guys do crack me up  -  funnily enough, a few years ago I was taking medication for a 'condition'  -  I'd forgotten to take it one morning and I shouted up to my wife 'I've forgotten to take my medication!!' and my 6/7 year old son (that age at the time) shouted down, 'Oh no!!! take it, dad, take it!!!!'  -  a legend in my own household!!

It is a dealer fitted option in Germany though. Just like cruise control can be fitted by a dealer in UK.
I'm checking with German dealers if it was possible to install the ACC (or ADC, they can't decide how to call it) when I drive through Germany next year.

I think they dropped it from the Golf options list even in Germany. They call it ACC out there, and the adjustable suspension is DCC. Confusingly.

Actually it's never been a factory option, rather dealer fitted option. But you're right - I just had a look at the the German GTI brochure and it no longer mentions Distance control.
