Don't post pictures, too many people will enjoy them.
Every car I've owned has had a key scrape, always when it was just cleaned.

Except the GTI, touch wood.

I think I have been sooooooo lucky both of my last cars were scratch free, just the normal road rash on the bonnet.

Thinking on the bright side, at least you have a car someone is jealous enough to key it..

I'm not sure even that explains it.  Why would anyone be seriously jealous of an 11-year-old Peugeot 306?  And yet that was subjected to exactly the same treatment.

Rolfe.

Kick the living sh!t out of them.

2 dodgy tw@ts tried to break into the house I was living in many years ago, old misses was pregnant, she lost the kid through trauma etc, long story but one of em scampered when I got downstairs to see what the noises were, the other I got and gave him a proper going over. You know what happened ? I got 200 hours community service. Judge said the right thing for me to do was to call the police and wait.  Point of me telling you that ? If I caught someone scratching my car, I'd do the time (community service or jail) again for them no probs at all.

Yup, bodyshop would be my first point of call.

Chipsaway had a look at a couple of stone chips on my bonnet and and a very small scrape on the bumper and wanted £200 - plus they said they have to piant the whole bonnet.

Try and get a look at a bodyshop's work [see it in streetlight too] before making your decision.

Bad news, you're right - it's sheer jealousy and there's bugga all you can do about it after the event.

Got him back today.

Perfect job by the dealer bodyshop.
Insurance job as it was all four panels to one side, it doesn't effect the NCD as it was a vandalism claim.

Perfect car again.

Good to hear mate. I also had someone put a deep scratch into my bonnet, spelling something bad! F@kin b@studs!

Just out of interest, with it being an insurance job, how did it not effect your NCD? is yours protected? i presume you have to pay an excess?

As it was a vandalism claim it does not effect my NCD or NC protection (it doesn't count as a normal claim).

I had to pay the excess, that's all.
