BBS Wheels advice?
« on: 09 November 2009, 20:49 »
Basically want to know why my new car has centre caps and some BBS wheels do not????

Are these BBS's? are there different types???

Are these worth keeping as i like the look until funds allow!!!!

Cheers

If there bbs it will say on the wheel somwhere mate, have a gander. As for the centre caps, im not sure if the vw ones came as standard but you can get anything that will fit. Obv you would hope to have bbs centres but nothing to worry about if there vw as long as they say bbs on em

If you look at my signature pic I have very similar wheels, mine are apparently bbs rz (apparently bbs made a few different styles of rz) but I dont know for sure. Mine are 15" 4x100. Are your 15" cus they look smaller? might be because the tyres are not low profile.
I think these wheels are standard fitment on some corrado G60's so I hear. Hope it helps

The wheels you both have are from a BMW E30, they come in 14" and 15" - I know this because I also have them :P

They are def BBS wheels, think your right about 'rz' (never been to sure tho) if you ebay E30 centre caps you will come across a lot of them.

They are also two different types of centre caps, one made from plastic the other metal, tends to be around £17-20 for a metal one.

EDIT: I think you also get push fit and screw fit, think the genuine BMW wheels were all screw fit, have a look to see what you have on yours first

Yeah think they are a very similar style for the bmw. I saw the original M3 on fifth gear the other day and they wheels were exactly the same. The centre caps on mine are a push fit with a kinda cir-clip method. I will whip the centre caps off and give you the codes as I know mine are genuine bbs, might give you something to compare to.
I think the RS are a similar design to the RZ but in split rim form, again I am not sure though. Either way I love my wheels, alot of people seem to comment on the wheels when I go down the pub or whatever lol

Because they fall off sometimes!

I've lost two of my BMW BBS wheel centre caps. Presumed somewhere on the side of the M1. I'm not sure if they are genuine caps as they have a VW logo on them though, perhaps that's why they fell off if the fit isn't quite perfect.

I shifted the remaining ones to the same side so I can make it look good for photos

My BBS wheels have the BBS and BMW logos stamped onto the insides, along with the wheel size.
