If you don't mind a bit of work you can pick up a set of scruffy Monza IIs for under £200 and get them refurbed and looking like new for just over £400 all in. I'm sure some of the refurbishers will finish their wheels better than the BBS/Ronal factory never mind Chinese replicas.
I've seen decent sets of originals with tyres go for around £500.
As for BBS replicas, Philip Walker will do a brand new set of genuine VZ033s for under £600. I've got a set and they look superb on a mk5 (and not too shabby on a mk6 either). For the extra couple of hundred quid I'd rather have geniune wheels.
