hi thanks all ive been on the phone with the finance chap at the dealer and he has given me the gap insurance for £210 for three years so im happy with that but thanks to you all for the fast replys and saved me some money to, more for the fuel now lol  :evil:

Was at Arnold Clark ordering bits from the Accessory brochure . Vision Alloys, mud falps, kick plates, boot sill protector and boot liner. Tyre of choice for me is the Goodyear F1’s. Cheapest I could find online was £135 per tyre.. Arnold Clark can do them for £125 per tyre so quite pleased about that.
and asked for an up date. Only told that it takes 16 weeks for a GTI order and that they have had no contact from VW so car should be here mid April.

Is it possible to contact VAG uk to find out what week your car is ear marked for the build week ?

Your dealer 'should' keep you informed when he gets a scheduled week and then closer the time it shoudl become confirmed.

Does the Factory order number have any bearing on when the car is built. I'd be interested to hear what others order numbers are and then see when they ordered them and when they have been confirmed. Mine is 61766? (left the last number off just in case i shouldn't be giving this out) and it's still estimated at week 18.

barter with your dealer.  tell him you can find it cheaper by a mile.  i got quoted 500 notes and found it for 99 quid.  told him i'd be going elsewhere, ended up getting it for free!  sweet!

emailed my dealer this morning for an upadte and was told it was still on Build week 18 (unconfirmed) :sad:
He has just emailed me back 2 hours later and told me someone had cancelled and they have put my car in the cancelled slot and it is getting built this week !!!!  :grin: So i may see it later in the month or Early April.

Really excited now. Hope some of you others have the same luck soon.

Great news for you Fanters, I'm envious! Regarding your comment on build numbers, mine looks to be lower than yours, it's 608***, bw11, but I reckon you will have a new number now.
