Confusion - Speccing Luxury Pack

I specced the luxury pack for the folding mirrors (tight garage door), and I've got the automatic wipers and the self-dimming mirror and all the trimmings.  I had automatic wipers on my last car and I definitely wanted to keep them.

Your dealer has misunderstood the specifications in the same way as some others on this thread.  He needs to be taken out and shot.  The luxury pack (for the basic Golfs) includes everything that is in the convenience pack, that's why you can't specify them both!

This guy should be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Thanks!  I thought I'd better change it since I have a new car on order!  I'll spruce it up a bit when there are real silver photos available!

Looks like I'll be giving the dealer a call tomorrow and asking him to add the Lux Pack then.

I was a bit dubious of the whole thing - but when he told me about the previous customer who never got auto lights, and then showed me the line in the brochure, it seemed to make sense.

Either there was some sort of misunderstanding about the other car (the owner thought he didn't have stuff he really did have?), or he had suffered some sort of mis-build and someone should have been sorting it out for him.  Not telling him it was meant to be like that!

When you read that document I've linked to in the second post, what the dealer said DOES actually make sense.

If you look at the Convenience Pack (page 8 ) it has a tick in the GTI as standard equipment - and then a little 3 next to it.
In the Lux Pack it also has the little 3 next to it. 

The little 3 at the bottom says you can't spec them together.

If the GTI already has the Convenience Pack as standard, that would indicate that you can't order the Lux Pack with it.  You can either have one or the other.  If I had to choose, I would take the Convenience Pack - but ideally I'd have both!
If you guys are saying that you have both - then great - but I can see what the dealer is saying.

I can assure you I have the luxury pack, and nothing has been dropped.  There was never any question of not getting automatic windscreen wipers and auto-dimming mirror - they're standard, for goodness sake!

So the brochure is misleading.  Somebody should have proof-read it a bit better.  But it's the dealer's job to know this stuff.

I'll tell him tomorrow when I ask him to add the Lux Pack.  The auto wipers on my MK5 drove me nuts - but I couldn't live without the auto / come home lights!  I love having people telling me 'You've left your lights on mate' every time I walk away from the car
