On a similar theme, has anyone noticed how far the remote works on a Golf?
I was in Ikea the other day in the restaurant and as usual had parked my car at the other side of the car park away from the other cars. I was sitting eating my dinner when I noticed a couple of folk walking towards the car so decided to check my car was locked by pressing the lock button, thinking it would never work as it was about 500 yards away. Couldn't believe the lights flashed!!!

Anyone tested it olut further?

I unlocked it from so far away today, it re-locked itself just as I was about to open the door!

I'm not sure how clever this is.  It's cute, for sure, and it does allow you to use the leaving-home lights to light your way across the car park.  My old car required me to be right alongside it before it would register the remote, and it occurred to me it might be a good thing.  Suppose you dropped your key in a car park.  How easy do you want to make it for the finder to figure out which car they now have a key to?

You probably already know this but when your standing along way from your car and you want to lock it but you are out of range, point the fob at your head and try.
Golfgti build quality is average at best.
