AlanD is right - it's what we are prepared to pay for a car.

Isn't though that German manufacturers always seem to offer most things as an option in the UK. I bought a MB 190 years back, and it didn't even come with a radio as standard!.

Yes it is.

I'm looking forward to seeing a twin test to compare them. The Scirroco may feel a bit lighter on it's feet, who knows!

Because we always get ripped off in this country.

Perhaps its because we're paying about £7000 less than them for the basic price in the first place - and all they get extra is Park Assist and the Winter pack!

VW salesman just rung me to tell me he's faxed my order off first and should be able to tell me a build date in the next couple of days!

I'd told him not to fax through my order yet as I want some clarification on the lux pack / convenience pack debate!

I'm also seriously considering Leather now, as the standard seats are going to get in a right mess!!

According to the VW press release, it will take 2 weeks before any orders are actually confirmed - so they won't be able to give you a build date until after that.

Reading through - it appears the Winter Pack on a R in conjunction with bi-xenons and leather consists solely of "Heated windscreen washer jets".

So, I'm wondering, if it's worth it for £225... any views?

£225 for heated washer jets  £330 for heated seats and washer jets makes heated seats worth £105.... hmmm, I sense unfair price loading there.

I had a look at the price list you posted - and yeah, its a bit of a con!
I grudge paying £330 for heated seats on a £30k+ car - but I feel they're a necessity.
If I'd ordered leather I wouldn't have bothered with the Winter Pack... as £225 for heated washer jets is a tad excessive!!

Will probably get Winter Pack taken off when I confirm the order. Also wondering about Luxury Pack and Reversing Camera. Reckon I could very easily live without those too.

I think you get a reduction on the price of the winter pack if you're having leather seats.
