Yeah even with the kids iphone speakers / docks, this pausing doesn't happen.
I actually think it is getting worse on mine now.

The only issue I have had so far is sometimes when the ipod/iphone moves to the next track, the previous track name stays on the screen, anyone else had that?

Only on a 4th Gen Nano when I was trying out the stutter
My i touch has never done that.
