Isnt that how it is standard?

Twin headlights, nearest the grill is the sidelight and full beam, and on the outside is the dipped beam?

I understand what you're saying.. the inner lamp was lit up like it would be with the ignition turned off but lights switched on?

Think this has something to do with the fusebox.. or so I've read on Vortex.

Thats the one... Looked smart!

Just remove the DayGlo resistor.
Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

Hard to explain, but..

When the ignition is turned on, flick your sidelights on and the headlight bulbs come on very dim WITH the 5w sidelight bulbs, when you put your lights on, the headlight bulbs get brighter.

Removing the resistor will stop the headlight bulbs coming on dim, meaning that when you switch your sidelights on, only the 5w bulbs will light up.
