The new Polo is basically a MK6 Golf that has been in the washing machine too long and shrunk. Looks wise anyway.

With Sgt Major Kevs permission, I've found some info on coding for the LED lamps. It's from a German website so I'm not sure all this information is 100% correct.

As far as I can tell, 2009 model year cars need to be re-coded differently otherwise low voltage may affect the front sidelight output. There also seems to be an effect on the tailgate lamps, which go out when the tailgate is opened (?)

Can someone tell me if the tailgate lamps go out when you open it on UK cars?

Yes, but I think I've read on motor-talk.de that some (2009?) cars should be re-coded HEX = 05, binary 00000101, not 04, 00000100.

Jeez, this is getting seriously complicated! If I start saying stuff like this to the technicians at my dealers, they're going to tell me to tell me to f*** off (only in French, of course) :smiley:
