on mobile need advice on sills

hi all
sorry Mot to be able to search and ask you all but im out with the car.
Mot on thursday
i just put a finger through my front sill Jacking point
question is how much for welding and how big a job :(

Hi Mate     I had the same problem in August and I paid £30 for it to be welded and this took a couple of hours with other job so should be about an hours labour tops.     Cheers     Deano

Deano I think that is a very, very cheap price!

How much were the cills?
Or did you just have a patch welded over?

That'll be a patch price but there's nothing wrong with a patch if it's done right.

I would think you will be paying more than £30 to be honest, you should really cut out and weld in as required.

Yup they're allowed as long as they're seam welded not just tacked on. To do it properly all rust should be cut out, and the patch welded in correctly. I've patched mini sills on many many occaions.
