Maybe stupid idea? maybe not.

Right, I have been thinking about it in the past, and it probably is a stupid idea and you will laugh, BUT, in theory, it SHOULD work.

/Flameproof suit on

I have an old vacuum cleaner motor along with it's switch and the cable. I have tested it and it works perfectly. Now my theory is, if you mount it on the air box, using a power converter (which I have, 12v-240v) to power it, and then run the switch in the cabin to turn it on/off, do you think it would make any difference? In theory it should, as it is filling the air box VERY quickly with nice air. Like an electric supercharger style.

Views please.

Doubt it.

It might cause a build up of air pressure.  Engine might not run rich enough.

Give it a go though.

noooo he doesn't want Helium he wants Tungsten Hexafluoride   Just don't let your tyres get too cold otherwise you'll have a sloshing in your tyres

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

If you run the vacuum from an intake in the bumper somewhere then you will get nice cold air. but not if its just sat on your air box sucking up your engine heat.

wait a minute....helium is lighter than air.....lightweight wheels reduce unsprung weight....see where I'm going with this?

Obviously I'd have a good cold air intake running to it, both for cold air and to keep the motor cool.

I'm gonna get hold of an used air box and try some ideas and do some planning, I'm interested in what the results could be

Quick question. The power converter has a +ve and a -ve wire, can I run them straight to the battery terminals without fusing it? or should I fuse it?
