Hi all

An update on my order. I had a message this morning from the dealers saying my car is still scheduled for wk 2 but this was prompted by me ringing them yesterday- which seems to be the norm. Apparently I should have a call on Monday once the salesman has discussed with his manager what they can do in the way of compensation but I heard the same patter 2 weeks ago and didn't get a response then.

The more I think about it, the more I'm swaying towards telling them I want it on 1st March with the new plates or I'll cancel the order. I make chicken out if push comes to shove as I love the GTI but it would be a kick in the teeth to get a new car only a couple of weeks before the new reg comes out

I would def. dig my heels in too. Bet they were quick enough to relieve you of your deposit.

Can't believe some of the stuff that's been typed in this thread, what are VW playing at??

Yeah- they bit my arm off for the deposit.. Only £500 but it's been sitting in their bank account since mid-August which grates a bit... Still, at least they are getting twitchy because I got a good trade in price for my current car (an astra) which will be losing them money as I carry on driving it, particularly as the new shape is coming out v soon.

I'll look forward to what VW have to say this coming week and let you know.

Will do, mate. This thread has kept me sane by realising I'm not the only one getting the run around by VW....

They should give it you for the 1st March, when I got badly messed about with my Mk5 order I was in the same boat with a potential late Feb delivery the car was so badly delayed. I told them that unless they gave it me with 1st March I'll can the order, non-negociable. Got the car on 1st March. I think you should be able to, however it would mean the dealer eating about £590ish in VAT increase depending on the spec of the car, but I'd walk if not!

Yeah it is snoopy, hard to say what that could possibly mean! I do hope VW get there arses into gear soon for you soon!

I have not contacted my dealer or VW for an update today, but my car should be being built this week! lets see if my dealer updates me "as promised" (he seems a nice guy - whether he'll update?! i doubt this very much!!).

Well i contacted my dealer again

This is not the word for word what i said but you get the idea.
I explained i know whats happening out there and am clued up on whats going on with August orders etc. I also know whats going on at VW and especially with respect to build weeks, factory delays, etc etc and i said how i don't scare easy  . So i asked do i still have a provisional build week or am i back on the waiting list? If i do still have a provisional build week and i know it can move all over the place and make no logical sense but just as a very ruff guide could you supply me with it please?
the reply was
Computer says  "factory order status at the moment"
............
"Looks like it has gone back with the build week but I cannot confirm this with you as the factory status only says factory ordered."

I was thinking about this thread today.

I was thinking it maybe better for me to start a new thread and simply put the table of orders in the first post and then i can just keep editing it as we update. That way we don't have to keep looking for it as its the first post of the thread and we can then post as many coments as we want after it without worrying the table vanishes 4-5 pages back.

We can then see if MDSS MK6 is still around, and get him to lock this thread so there not any double posting going on.

Views?
