One bright side to these delays is that others are sorting out teething troubles for you.

its got nothing to do with the optional extra's, my dad just ordered the basic GTi yet we have to wait 5 months for the car, not 10 weeks as promised upon ordering. VW have made a hash of this ain't they.. But, never the less, we shall wait!

Hi all

An update on my order. I had a message this morning from the dealers saying my car is still scheduled for wk 2 but this was prompted by me ringing them yesterday- which seems to be the norm. Apparently I should have a call on Monday once the salesman has discussed with his manager what they can do in the way of compensation but I heard the same patter 2 weeks ago and didn't get a response then.

The more I think about it, the more I'm swaying towards telling them I want it on 1st March with the new plates or I'll cancel the order. I make chicken out if push comes to shove as I love the GTI but it would be a kick in the teeth to get a new car only a couple of weeks before the new reg comes out

An eratic idle...can idle an anything from 900 to 1800 rpm

so far changed :

                       throttle sensor
                       throttle body
                       PCV valve
                       ECU

such a shame, but after 4 months I have no option...I'm not waiting 5 months for another one, so I'll have to get something else.

I would def. dig my heels in too. Bet they were quick enough to relieve you of your deposit.

Can't believe some of the stuff that's been typed in this thread, what are VW playing at??

The more i read the worse things get.  There seems alot of cars coming out the factory with defects they should not have.  Missing parts, paint problems, wrong things fitted etc.  Seems to me that they maybe rushing things out to try and catch up on the backlog of orders and its backfiring on them. :undecided:
Im actually worried the more i read that i may end up doing a 600 mile round trip in a month or so just to find the dealer is trying to palm off a defective car, with paint defects, build errors and other problems.
