Afeter being told that I am now build week 50 and wouldn't get the car until mid January I have cancelled the order. I was told that I would get the car in 8 weeks from ordering which clearly hasn't been the case at all. It would have been nearly 5 months!!

The GTIs are good but not that good. Not sure what I will do now but going to take a look at the 330i

I also feel your pain ! I've just received confirmation that mine is now due to be built in week 2 ... Have been told to expect a call from VW in the next couple of days re compensation although despite much hollow talk from them, I'm not overly optimistic.. I actually hope it slips by a couple of weeks now so it gets the new plates.

I know exactly what you meen. I think if mine slips further and they offer compensation i think what i will ask for is they pay the extra vat and register it 1st March.
For me myself i feel its pointless to get it in the middle of winter with the bad conditions/roads so i will not mind the extra wait.
