Calling August orders

Hi all - as promised, here is my update - just got off the phone from VW customer services and they have told me that it has been confirmed BW48 Wooop! - lets just hope it can not randomly be changed. i hope to get it just before xmas, if it takes max of 4 weeks from build date to when it is ready for collection! cant wait!!!!!!!

From Build week 42 to getting the car took just over 2 weeks, thats when the really dealer kicked in, they told me it was built, at the docks in Germany, it had landed and best of all when I could get it all with in the space of 2 weeks, Fingers crossed yours is the same. That even included transport to Glasgow.

Wow! that is really good to hear. Week 48 is week commencing mon 23rd nov, so would you say it could be ready week commencing monday 7th or 14th dec?

Build week 42 was confirmed to me as wc 15th october with me collecting the car on the 27th only thing they could not do in time is transfer the private reg still waiting for this.

Ps yes its a great car what you would call the DOG's BO**ocks compaired to the Fiesta I traded in..

Mine according to customer 'care' has been moved to week 50 and still not confirmed

Hopefully I'm wrong Snoopy but the same dealer that told me about VW taking the hit for the VW increase way back in September also told me that in general if your car has a build week of 49 or greater then it won't be completed until after the New Year!! However because of the demand for the Golf, they may work through that period for the first time ever, in the same way they never closed at summer this year.

He said the stumbling block was the other VW factories around the world, as VW liked to have everyone working the same to stop any bickering.

Again, it was only from the dealer so don't know how correct it was but he has been spot on with most things he told me.

I mentioned on this thread before that there is no such thing as a confirmed build week. It is pretty much confirmed only once the car goes in to production. I have told CC that I don't want the car if I don't get it before xmas!

Just had the call - arriving on Friday.

Ordered  - July 7th
Delivery  - November 6th

Hope it is worth the waiting - 17 weeks

This still amazes me.  I visited my dealer on 7th July, and confirmed my order by phone on 8th July.

Got it on 17th September, could have had it at the beginning of that week if I hadn't been on holiday.  I suppose he may have had an open slot he didn't tell me about, but actually the other dealer I visited the previous week said about 13 weeks.

Must have seemed a long four months!

Yeah true mb26 - i will just have to wait for a phone call around BW48 to find out for sure!

@rolfe........sorry but if you mention that (apparently exceptional) fact again I may start to get annoyed. Well done, but this thread isn't a place to crow about your car, its for the rest of us to work out when we might finally get ours

Has been a long 4 months

I have specced both sunroof and bluetooth phone prep which could have delayed the order.
