Just had the call - arriving on Friday.

Ordered  - July 7th
Delivery  - November 6th

Hope it is worth the waiting - 17 weeks

Will post some pics on Friday

I am picking mine up this friday as well. I will do a pre-delivery inspection tomorrow (I am not paying the full balance til everything is perfect!) Hope they can sort my Fiscon out before than!
I waited longer than you---18 weeks! I am the current record holder for the longest wait in this forum!

C&P from vw.co.uk

It's predicted that on the 1st January 2010 VAT is going to increase to from 15% to 17.5% . Volkswagen have created an offer to help minimise the impact of this increase on the on the final price you'll pay for your vehicle when it is delivered.

If you order a new Volkswagen before the 30th November 2009 and take delivery before the 1st January and 28th February 2010, we will give you a 2.5% discount on the pre VAT basic recommended retail price or the vehicle including factory fitted options.
Terms and conditions:

This offer applies to vehicles ordered between the 29th October and the 30th November 2009 and delivered and registered to private retail customers between 1st January and 28th February 2010. At participating retailers only. This offer is not a VAT ‘Price Protection’ offer. The 2.5 per cent discount is on the pre VAT basic retail price of the vehicle plus any factory fit options. This is available on Retail sales only (including scrappage offers). All models are eligible. Volkswagen UK reserves the right to change/withdraw this offer as required. For more information on this great offer and to arrange a test drive contact your local participating Volkswagen retailer by calling 0800 333

===========================
That isn't (on the face of it) much use to those of us who had the wit to order in what should have been ample time to beat the increase......and instead favours those who waited a couple of months
Have emailed my dealer to ask for clarification, but if this stands I'll be f'ing livid!

Went down to my local Stealers today---confirm my car will be available for pick-up this friday.
Hard to believe they are going to charge me £90 to fit my Fiscon!!! Their excuse is that they don't have their own autoelectrician. Don't know whether I can trust someone non-Vw trained to service my car in the future!
Don't worry about it alot of dealers have approved places they use without even telling there customers. You will probably find your dealer has an agreement with a local Car audio/alarm place that fits these types of things day in day out and will have 1 gazillion times more idea of what there doing than the semi skilled monkey that works at a franchise dealership.

Hi all - as promised, here is my update - just got off the phone from VW customer services and they have told me that it has been confirmed BW48 Wooop! - lets just hope it can not randomly be changed. i hope to get it just before xmas, if it takes max of 4 weeks from build date to when it is ready for collection! cant wait!!!!!!!

From Build week 42 to getting the car took just over 2 weeks, thats when the really dealer kicked in, they told me it was built, at the docks in Germany, it had landed and best of all when I could get it all with in the space of 2 weeks, Fingers crossed yours is the same. That even included transport to Glasgow.

Had the car for 2 days now, rain has been horrendous, so sorry no pictures yet.  I like the DSG gearbox, my wife is not so sure, she is still getting used to it. Full report and pictures when weather gets better.

Mea culpa

However, as your post reads the same, it still leaves a rather ridiculous situation imho, ie if you ordered later, you're safe, if you actually tried to avoid the vat by ordering earlier, you're not. And for those of us that ordered via brokers (and therefor fleet sale), we're double burged as it were?!
