LOL, don't forget to run it in properly!

For me, I forgot a few times (as TT has commented on already!)

Don't forget the very useful checklist for collecting the car (can't remember where it was, Mk5 section iirc)

You'll also need your drivers license, both card and paper bit.

Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!

Just for info.

I ordered week 26, car was built week 35, arrived in UK week 37 and was delivered week 39.

(4 weeks to get from the factory to the dealer. Maybe things will be faster now after the busy September period)

Just thinking.  Mine was ordered week 27 I think (8th July), build week 35, not sure exactly when it arrived as I was on holiday in week 37, might have got it a bit quicker otherwise, picked it up week 39 (17th September, is that right?)

No maybe I'm counting wrong.  Can't be arsed to go find a calendar.

Rolfe.

Yeah the checklist is all ready to go

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Are they not giving you 7 free days insurance so you don't have to bother with insurance etc to get the car taxed?

Its a standard VW things apparently. Saved me p*ssing about and getting to my dealer with a cover note.
All I did was phone VW insuarnce and say I wanted the 7 day complimentary insurance, gave them my name, reg no, dealer id number, and a couple of car details. I thought I would have been on the phone for ages but literally 2 minutes. They then fax the cover note to the dealer to enable them to get the car taxed.  I'd phone them if I was you, would save the hassle if you haven't already organised cover note etc. Plus give you 7 days to find the best quote.

On a similar vein, I noticed on confused.com prices with the same insurer change on a daily basis by as much as £20.

Kev,

Make sure the hazard triangle is included. Had to get mine separately after delivery... Thats why I wanted an english manual, to see whats missing from the standard gear.

Don't think that is a UK spec.

You know what else has changed in the newer deliveries? The boot space. Apparently my car's space is slightly less compared to the newer cars... since the newer ones have a side pocket on the right side of the boot when mine is just a straight wall. Saw this when I went to pick up my hazard triangle... Am surprised VW has different tweaks already in a car less than 3 months old...

I completely forgot the checklist, I was so excited!

Fortunately the car seems fine.
