mmm ok I live in Italy, and I am a really good friend with a major Volkswagen dealer, and they told me that the golf that are coming out of the factory on late october, are going to have something different from the ones previously built.
At this point not even the dealer knows what's been changed and why, but is soething that will affect the majority of the wolkswagen fleet... btw he will tell me as soon he finds out what it is!
therefore this migh be the reason for the delay...

You will have to keep phoning Volkswagen customer service in Italy to try and find out for us

This is getting really frustrating now. I was originally given (obviously provisional although I didn't know that at the time) a build week of 40. It was then updated to week 44 and now that the computer has done it's weekly update is now showing as 48 - still unconfirmed!!

This is what the dealer said:

'The car updates on our system on a Tuesday, and I have just checked yesterdays update. It has now moved to week 48, but could possibly come forward. This happens regularly until the build week is confirmed, and then it is solid.'

How often do you think it's worth contacting VW CC?

Call VW now, see what they say. I wouldnt call your dealer back untill they have the car, you really dont need them anymore if you have your com number.

Near the End of July, think it was the 21st.

If VW say its unconfirmed then thats not good :( mid december is an awful long time away.
