your local friendly tyre place should remove the tyres, clean up the inside edges and refit for a small fee (ask around and see who wants some beer money..all my local's like a bit of extra work  :lipsrsealed:)

That would work too but I needed to refurb mine and was painting them etc.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

Ummm so everybody has tyre pulling equipment in their garage?
So not that easy!

Assuming he wants or needs to drive car it will mean putting the spare on, driving to a tyre fitters and have the tyre removed, take home and do as suggested!
Repeat four times!

Numpties!

Yet another classic nice reply.

Well you lot were sooooo helpful!
I mean have you ever tried to take a tyre off?
I have a set of old tyre levers and it would be a right struggle but I could do it!
But I would never just brazenly tell someone to take a tyre off!

can't take tyre off yourself? -> take it somewhere that can take tyre off.

it's logic f*cking monkeys could do.

without taking the tyres off there's no way you can clean up the inside of the rim and the tyres will never seal properly and always leak air, which was the original problem.

just drop the wheels down your local tyre place and ask then to clean up the rim with a wire wheel or something similar and apply some sealant, i used to work in a tyre place and we used to do it to every wheel we got in as it was more hastle having people bring there wheels back because they where leaking :) shouldnt cost much, jus find out if they will do it cheaper as a cash jobby ;p

I used to do exactly the same, worked as atyre fitter and was allways doing them.Used to clean them up and bead seal them.
Sometimes i got away with just banging close to the area with a rubber mallet.Dont know why that worked to be honest,i just did what i was told.

don't put tyreweld in.. ever ever ever, unless you absolutey have to because your tyre is completely flat and your spare is dead/missing. If your tyre fitter was too lazy to clean up a bit of corrosion before fitting the tyres he'll tell you to f*ck right off if you bring him back a set of wheels full of that horrible sh!te.
