where does the thin wire on the ariel connect to??
i got a bee sting one, with main ariel cable and a thin black cable where do i join it to??

i believe this is needs to be connected to a live feed for signal amplification

I have no idea. I just thought there was 1 cable that connected to the back of your headunit.  ???

standard arials just have the main cable to the head unit. amplified items need a live feed too. for some reason the live cable is mostly always black. lots of people then assume that this is an earth, but of course you ariel is always earthed, or shoould be to the body work where it is attached.

best off using a switched live from your head unit that way it eliminates possibility of any trickle
