smooth as silk 1.6 TDi 105bhp, soon after to be 130

Yes TSi engines are short supply - 6/7 month wait.   Wonder if Seat say the same for the models they use that engine in ??

Hope it's not the 1.4tsi engine, as my local dealer said they were not taking any more orders as the delivery would be April next year, due to the shortage of engines he said. (pinch of salt needed I reckon)

No that is correct, it is on the VW configurator.

Well the spec is settled and the forms signed, will be locked for build next week sometime - no idea of build week yet but should be mid/end Nov i think (hoping  )

Tornado Red, black trim
17" Seattle Alloys
Sports Suspension
Tyre Monitor
Leather wheel etc
Service Pack

doesn't look much of a spec, but the SE gets cruise, e4xelec windows etc as standard, and not really anything else need or wanted to splash out on

A bit of snow round the edges and i'll pass for Santa

Good config'... apart from the sports suspension. ouch!

Agreed. White is nice for now... but the more I see white cars it makes me doubt my choice a little. :undecided:

One thing I have always said and stood by is that if your having a white car then it HAS to be the top of the range. i.e. GTI, AMG, M SPORT etc etc.

Agreed: a white Aston Martin Vantage looks sublime; a white Focus diesel looks cheap.

Huh ??

The suspension comes with the alloy upgrade, so effectively i'm going to end up with something akin to GTD spec, still softer than a GTI i would have thought ?

I'm worried now, perhaps i should have gone for the standard 16s with normal suspension set-up ??

I don't want a harsh ride, but then i don't want a roley poley either !

I'll be fine...
Even a GTI on 18s isn't crashy...in fact the ACC option gives it a nice firm up for backroad playing, so anything up to standard GTI stiffness is perfectly fine I'd say.
The suspension upgrade and 17" wheels should be no bother at all.

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.

White is a colour that has never really gone out of fashion. It will always sell.

Hmmm, not sure about that. Remember these things we had in the late 1980s that put people off for the following 20 years?   White is coming back into fashion and some cars go look great in it (GTI, Scirocco...), but you have to be a bit careful.

I have to agree with Frogti on this... white is nice on some of the newer cars but not necessarily it applies as the best colour for all cars today. It (white) is sometimes seen as ostentatious like red as opposed to say black.

HM

Whatever the colour, those Astra GTEs went like stink though!

Nice spec, but cancel the tyre monitor - it really is an utter waste of money - as virtually the whole of the Mk5 section will testify to!

£35 is neither here nor there, and since i generally get a puncture every 10k miles anyway, and even  if it only gives me a few more seconds notice its money well spent

TT is quite right... you will know well before the tyre monitor does
