Yip same with me. I've went for a GT this time on a 3 year PCP so hoping once the Mrs gets used to the increased payments from our present car, it will be a breeze to move up to the GTi as we will be forced to do something in 3 years.

personally i hate the non-metallic paints - go for a nice grey/black/dark blue it will be easier to sell too, so you might get some of your cash back on that.

Normally i'd agree with you but every car i pass these days is dark grey, mid grey or silver.

Red might be a bit 70s, but there are a few about.

White is supposedly the new black, but in 3 years time it might be a different issue.


Either way if i get £400 less trade in i'll be no worse off.

Theres also the issue of a 7 yr old and his bike, dark grey will show every one of those handlebar incidents

Hmmm, not sure about that. Remember these things we had in the late 1980s that put people off for the following 20 years?    White is coming back into fashion and some cars go look great in it (GTI, Scirocco...), but you have to be a bit careful.

I have to agree with Frogti on this... white is nice on some of the newer cars but not necessarily it applies as the best colour for all cars today. It (white) is sometimes seen as ostentatious like red as opposed to say black.

Agreed. White is nice for now... but the more I see white cars it makes me doubt my choice a little.

One thing I have always said and stood by is that if your having a white car then it HAS to be the top of the range. i.e. GTI, AMG, M SPORT etc etc.

Well the spec is settled and the forms signed, will be locked for build next week sometime - no idea of build week yet but should be mid/end Nov i think (hoping  )

doesn't look much of a spec, but the SE gets cruise, e4xelec windows etc as standard, and not really anything else need or wanted to splash out on

Hope it's not the 1.4tsi engine, as my local dealer said they were not taking any more orders as the delivery would be April next year, due to the shortage of engines he said. (pinch of salt needed I reckon)
