Yeah I came close last summer until some thieving gypsy decided they deserved my system more than me! Third time my system has been thieved, now just got a headunit running a shelf no amps, no sub  :(

Doesnt have to be that expensive - system i put together in my other car cost me bout ?600 and sounds crisp and clear to me.

Mainly Kenwood, which aint the best but its not bad.
12" sub
7 x 10's shelf
6 x 9's in doors
3" mid/tweets in dash (JBL's)
Jackson 4 ch amp (the weak link)
Kenwood h/u radio/cassette. 6 disc changer in boot.

Yeah tell me about it! Especially when you've gone from running a 15" sub with a dedicated mono amp to then having no sub  >:(
The thing that hurt the most though was the loss of my alpine cda-9813 I'd only had it 6weeks and was only just getting used to all the features. I'll have it all again one day once I've found a permanent car and got the security sorted first.

there were some really loud setup's at the cruise last night, but they sounded terrible. you could say they had a fuzzy sound to them lol. mine's crisp as now. just need to finish tidying it up.
