Don't launch it until 2013 at the earliest!

Amen to that! at least let us have some fun with our mk6 before bringing out a mk7.

Dear Volkswagen,

Having owned my MkVI for a month now, I would like to submit the following list of tweaks - in no particular order - that I would like you to implement for the MkVII GTI:

Anyone think of anything else? :)

How about when making a new car - don't just give us a facelift of an existing model!

Does anyone know the exact reason why the steering wheel has a flat bottom? It just seems a bit pointless to me so they can get rid of that on the VII.

The official reason is that it helps you get in and out more easily, i.e. your legs don't rub on the rim when sliding in and out. IMO, it's just there to flatter our egos and make us think we're driving an F1 car, whose flat-bottomed wheels do actually serve a purpose, as they sit just millimetres from the driver's thighs. All a bit ridiculous really: F1 drivers don't usually have to negotiate roundabouts during a Grand Prix, flat-bottomed wheels on a Golf just make turning unnecessarily awkward.

Are you not forgetting Lowes hairpin - on the 'toffs procession' they also call the Monaco GP!

Whats wrong with that, the mk5 was/is a cracking car, they made it better. Dont see the problem myself.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

MKV5.5.2
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Keeping the MKV for at least another couple of years, then it'll be a toss up between a MKVI GTi and an S4 Avant. Kids dependant!
