Not quite perfect...
« on: 01 September 2009, 22:19 »
Well picked the car up this morning and about 70 miles later heres the story, mark on drivers side rear Monza 2 (not a kerbing but a vertical scratch) looks like it might be a manufacturing defect - no quibble, to be replaced; rear bumper poor fitting with a variable panel gap (marked step in the rear passenger side wheel arch above the tyre) - a bit of pushing by a couple of techs seems to have improved it but again no quibble it will be removed and checked when it goes back for the new wheel and replaced if need be; been really heavy showers 'up North' today and worryingly there were a few drips of water coming through the passenger side front door (about were the headlining meets the A-pillar trim) when driving but after it had stopped raining (front door seals appear differently fitting to the rear) - will report it and get it seen to.  Bit annoyed that the PDI wasn't as good as it should have been (I know it's a busy time of year) - an obvious word of caution for those of you waiting to collect do a thorough check over before signing acceptance and if you have issues discuss with the salesman and agree a resolution then sign the acceptance form.

Will add a pic when I've worked out how to do it...

It's not all negative though...car great to drive; on the great DSG debate it's a thumbs up for me and Mrs GTaye who was not convinced but can now see the benefits! Looks great in Red too.  These next 1500km of running in can't come quickly enough

I'm a little puzzled about the "bottle opener" (17). Is it a thing of the past (Mk V) :) ? Or do you expect to find one?

It should be in the little cubby hole under/behind the gear lever.. used to "open bottles" so yes it does look like a bottle opener and also used as a divide to hold cups in place!!  :nerd:
