Hey - right, I'm in need of some fault diagnosis help.
Noticed this fault the other day driving. It was ok yesterday, but then came back today.
I'm meant to be driving down the Lake District on Wednesday, so I'll need it sorted by then.
Right, here goes:
When driving in gears 2,3 + 4th its noticeable.
Revs are low, around 2000 rpm, when I try and accelerate there is no power, the revs rise slowly, to a point where everything kicks in to normal power. The best way to describe it - is like driving 2 or 3 gears too high and accelerating (nothing really happens).
When I got home, I popped the bonnet, and could smell burning around the back of the engine.
Do you think this could be the clutch on the way out? To begin with, I thought it was engine related, but I'm not sure yet.
There are no other symptoms that I am aware of.
If it is clutch, how much are they for a garage to replace?
Cheers
Chris
