That is a bit harsh. The GTD is just a GTI with a proper engine (Only kidding). I do a lot of miles and this is my daily driver so diesel is the only option.

If there are any pictures of a white GTI on 19s, that would be good too.

I'm still not so sure that a very low spoiler is good for "looks" once you've crumpled the thing on a ferry ramp.  Or even on a sleeping policeman.

It was recently pointed out to me that my Peugeot is currently fouling the ferry ramp every time I go on and off.  I'm pretty sure the Golf is lower even in its factory configuration.

Sounds like lowering probs wont be a good idea for you then. TBH thought how many of us regularly use a ferry lol . . . .

Oh, they have.  Several times over the years.  When they first started that route with a sort of landing craft thing, I saw someone trash a trailer caravan trying to get it on board.

It's a lot better now, but I'm still wary even of the standard configuration Golf.

The Mk5 and Mk6 chassis are near identical mechanically and I know some tuners (APR in the US, Oettinger in Germany) are using the same suspension kits for Mk5 and Mk6.

I checked the Eibach website for lowering springs and they use the same kit part numbers for Mk5 and Mk6 GTI, although the GTD isn't listed yet. If you're just changing springs you'll probably be fine with the ones for the Mk5 GT TDI 170.

Having said that, and if you're changing dampers as well, I'd always check with the suspension manufacturer before making your decision.

That could be a good idea about getting MK 5 GT springs!

I would only be changing springs, not the whole lot. I have had coilovers in most of my cars so far but I can't afford them this time
