Springs
« on: 19 August 2009, 17:55 »

Hi there

I have ordered a GTD and I am going to lower it.

Does anyone have their GTD lowered?

I can't find any springs listed for the GTD but they do list springs for the GTI. The GTI sits at a different height to the GTD so I am stuck!

Thanks
I love my GTD

I thought it was but apparently they sit at different heights?!

VW's site says the GTI is 22mm lower at the front, 15mm at the rear and the GTD is 15mm all round.

Im not sure m8. However there is a White GTD identical to mine parked up waiting for sept 1st and apart from the GTI redband on the front grill, The wheels and the rear exhausts there's not actually much to tell them apart.

But even if the GTD and GTI do have identical ride heights, they will have very different spring rates, due to the diesel engine being much heavier than the petrol engine.  :nerd:

Why are cars like this slung so low anyway, and why do you want them lower?

I'm worried enough about getting on and off ferry ramps as it is.

wash your mouth out you

the only difference is the engine (and the tax bracket and the economy )

i expect that most manufacturers have concentrated on the petrol variants in developing springs.  You may have to wait a few months before you see some for the GTD  :undecided:

Keep an eye out for new stuff from Eibach, H&R and the other usual suspects
